The Thread of Doom
This is "The Thread of Doom", where EmmyKami claimed to go to COI in Arizona, meet and kiss Sasha on the cheek, have photos with Sasha Cohen, Michelle Kwan, and Dan, have autographs of all the skaters at the event, and to top it all off, tell us that she will post every single picture and autograph. Oh, and yes, they were all lies.
This is where we finally caught her in all those lies Judith had been reasonably sure of for a while by then. Others weren't so sure. (Charlotte: Judith rocks, by the way. She picked up on all of it when the rest of us didn't. I do believe that EK went to COI that night. I think she stuck herself in a rut, though, when she made up the story about kissing Sasha on the cheek and whatnot and promised to post pictures. She knew the picture would be her downfall, and it was.)
Judith was the first person to really state that she thought the comments Sasha supposedly said sounded Un-Sasha-like, here. Lanie was next, in a much-more-blunt typical Lanie-style, here Maddi agreed, after which Judith posted a longer post pointing out the discrepancies between EK's story and Olympic Dreamer's story (Olympic Dreamer also went to COI Arizona that night, and deserves a lot of credit, because her story vs. EK's helped show us the light in a lot of ways.) Pelladon and Maddi began to converse about how Judith was right, while Charlotte stuck up for her. (Charlotte: Yeah. You'll notice I did that a lot at the beginning of this gigantuan thread. I didn't want to believe she was lying so much. You can imagine how I feel about that now.)
Then, on page 4, the arguing started. Mostly it was Judith and EK, with input from Maddi and pelladon. This went on for a while, covering pages, with some people sticking up for 'Nicole' (the name EK used while under EK until we caught her) - those people mostly being Charlotte throughout the thread, Evil, balletmaus, Regen, and a few others. The people who didn't believe her grew as the thread went on, but it started out the obvious people - Judith, Maddi, pelladon, Lanie. There were a whole bunch of people that didn't take a stance either way and just asked for pictures.
At this point, EK started obviously ignoring Judith's intelligent rebukes to EK's improbable stories, as Judith pointed out several times. Judith and others kept asking for pictures, and in typical EK style, she didn't know how to work some sort of technology so she didn't have to go through with what she said she'd do. But because it created such a controversy, everyone went through extra effort to get those pictures up - Dave found a user manual and Evil described it back to her so she could work it.
Meanwhile, Judith pointed out that EK was supposed to go to COI with Alexandra~Sasha and Sasha Dreamer, who we now know were actually EK under different accounts. EK replied with this. Judith replied, Maddi replied, Judith replied, Ballettmaus defended EK (Judith: Although I was a tad mad at that comment, I got Ballettmaus' point and took it into consideration for future discussions), and then, ABRUPTLY, Alexandra~Sasha miraculously appeared at just the right moment to give input to try to quell the backlash. Then EK posted again, saying that she uploaded the photos but doesn't know how to save them to My Pictures (which makes no sense).
Then our lovely, lovely mods appeared, both commenting on the fishiness of it all. EmmyKami posts saying something decidedly odd that can be taken several ways, and Maddi asks her to clarify.
People argued. Then Judith made a quick post summarizing a lot of good points. People argued some more. Then another of our lovely, lovely mods made a post that I (Charlotte) never noticed till now - this one with a very important link back. A bunch of people commented on the suspicions they'd had about EmmyKami and her gazillion alter egos. Some people who previously defended her started to falter. More arging ensued, and another quick summarizing thread from Judith.
More people argued, but less of it as a lot more people started to say they though EK was lying. Then *Sasha Passion* posted a great, long thread going through a bunch of the various points made at that point. EK continued to have problems getting her supposed pictures up (now imageshack, photobucket, and yousendit all didn't work.)
Which made Judith very mad. EmmyKami responded. (Judith: Oh, by the way, EK, I never said that skaters needed to sound professional.)
Then, finally, EK uploaded a picture of herself and Sasha.
At this point, no one believed that it was actually a picture of EK and Sasha. People argued and discussed and EK was not happy with the reaction. Ways were suggested for EK to prove that the picture was of herself, and Judith made another long post.
EmmyKami, per usual, pretended not to know what people were talking about for ways to prove it was a picture of her. There was a lot more discussion and arguing, of course, and a lot of people explaining to EK ways to prove herself, as she took forever understanding again and then never did any of it, anyway. Judith, meanwhile, made this lovely post.
EK responded to allegations that people had seen a photo of the girl in the picture and Sasha before. Judith replied back. EK got pissed. Taraspur made a quick post summarizing a bunch of stuff again.
Then came the breakthrough, via Melody, who is absolutely amazing. She made this post. In that post, Melody asked several questions, leading to other explanations until this came up from Melody. EmmyKami ignored the post, so Melody responded with this post. EK replied with this. Evil asked a pointed with this post. EmmyKami's answer was here, then Evil put a new light on the situation with this post. At that point, Maddy summarized what EK said and told EK what she had done. Things were firing up until Sweetie, a moderator stepped in and cooled things down by telling us to chill, but this only came into effect for a few minutes.
Obviously, at this point EK's lies were coming into light and couldn't be denied anymore. EK was even admitting to it. Ashley, another mod, and one who had started posting a lot at this point, made this point, to which EK responded.
And, after all this crap, Evil finally posted a summarizing thread, complete with the picture Melody remembered from the Kimmie Meissner Forum that lead to all of the discovery, here.
