Graphical Presentation
Victoria Callaghan

Every Fed needs graphics and those graphics are going to look better if created as a set instead of having random, different colored graphics everywhere. When I co-owned then owned an e-fed called Maritime Wrestling Corporation I was, after a long period of time, in charge of doing graphics for the site which was a literal graphics nightmare.

This fed had a new layout every week or so and with each new layout came a new color scheme. The roster banners stayed the same over each change, the show banners stayed the same, which were, quite frankly, no more then tacky animated words. This efed had absolutely no graphic stability, and when I inherited that job, I wasted no time in fixing that. First thing I did was replace the layout, instead of using the frames they had been using, which was confusing in the first place, I seperated it into two frames, one for the banner top and one for the content. I also created one color scheme for the efed, red and black.

Shown above is the banner that I created for the site. Next overhaul to be done was the roster page. This page had outdated graphics and people who hadn't RPed in a long time still on the page. The wrestlers individual bio pages held a picture of them with their name on it, not bad, but again, the font color was white in which hadn't been in the layout for months. I attacked it and came up with roster banners that now worked with the new layout, again working with red and black as a color scheme. Believe me, a color scheme will make your efed more presentable and better to look at for the eye.

Roster banners make a better impression if they match the layout, you don't want to see a lot of random colors and designs on the banner, it makes a statement that you're not able to commit to only one color, or efed possibly. When everything matches, it shows that you take pride in the way your efed looks to the public and potential members.

Links, headers, etc should also stay in scheme as much as possible although more often then not, links don't get changed on other people's sites, so it doesn't matter as much as the initial presentation.

Sorry for the harsh truth, Katrina
