Dark Fire Brigade was well known as being powerful as well as being
capable of silent murder. It's members can assassinate in the most
creative ways, and even the lowest members know powerful secrets of
death. It's history is not well recorded beyond blood spilled, and it's
secrets are nothing less then secrets. What is known is about them is
that battle is an art and killing is not the end goal. Only Conquest.
An obscure tale of murder is heard about the Apprentice Jilgar. He was
not strong, yet he was an Apprentice still marked for death. The true
target however, was his current training mentor the Jedi Master Ren.
Regardless of Ren's strongly upheld Jedi code, he was powerful and the
Dark Brotherhood wanted to tempt him to darkness and power. He was known
to have the ability to sway groups of even mentally force resistant Jedi
to his words and thinking. The Brotherhood sent a few agents to have a
conversation with Jilgar, even dropping information in his surroundings
to indirectly plant thoughts into Jilgar, impressing the idea into him
that Ren does see potential in Jilgar but still feels that he does not
train hard enough or even care about his development. Jilgar always
felt like his own training was not slow, but simply pathetic. He tried
and tried but it was not good enough because his training was barely
started at his age, it not only took far too long to reach it's current
point but it also is at a point far too late in his life compared to the
other trainees. Jilgar knew that the dark side was not a good path to
take and filled with evil and temptation so he refused the subtle hints
given to him by those who suggested it when he told them his troubles.
The day came when he started training with an obscure Jedi Master, who
lived in a Cave far from his town. The Master known as Jak trained him
in ways that the other Jedi must not have known, and he taught Jilgar
about the history of the planet, which had a history of slow force
development. Jak explained that the weakness is simply related to
genetics, but he has an elixer that will cure it. Jilgar asked for the
elixer months later, being trained in secret and learning faster then
ever before. Jak gave him the drink, and watched Jilgar fall quickly as
the Apprentice lost consciousness to the Sith poison.
Ren woke up Jilgar from his sleep in the medical center for the town's
Jedi. The two always had a close connection and their Force connection
had developed to the point of the feeling of pain between twin sisters
and brothers. The poison permeated Jilgar with darkness and pain, Ren
did not know the source or exact process but he felt himself have
thoughts and feelings he not only suppressed but forbade for others to
think or feel based on the knowledge of the exact path they lead. Weeks
passed and Jilgar told Ren of the Cave and Jedi Master that taught him.
After Ren's investigation there was no Master Jak and the Cave was a
natural cave filled with fauna and stone, yet no man or woman lived
there. The Dark Brigade did not quit here, they pushed their battle
further and the month Jilgar was near death, they imbued the dying young
Apprentice with further health and even more darkness. Ren felt ever
drop of lifeforce and every bit of evil fill his emotions.
Ren was called into the medical facility, and joined Jilgar in his
holding room. The staff explained the lack of effectiveness in medicine,
and that is when Ren mentioned their force connection. Treatment was
proscribed, they would give the same medicine to both Jilgar and Ren,
and it should accumulate and Jilgar should be on the road to recovery.
The medicine was given to both, and Master "Jak" visited, Jilgar had
time to open his mouth before Ren and Jilgar both collapsed under the
weight of darkness. Jak took them both to his cave, knowing full well
that Jilgar could not possibly survive. The Sith poison was strengthened
by the Master's and the Apprentice's connection, and the dark side
infection was magnified by the not only double dose but direct
consumption by Ren, the goal was closer to fruition then ever.
Jilgar was alive long enough for Ren to awake in the Cave alone in
darkness, Jilgar was killed as soon as Jak stopped his heart. The pull
of his death was a blow to Ren, while the darkness had itself wrapped
around Ren's soul, the death of his Apprentice was the final straw. Jak
revealed himself and offered his teachings to give him the chance of
revenge on the town's Jedi "leadership". They had known of Jilgar's lack
of ability and lost their patience. They let him die as a test to Ren
and somehow he had failed. Ren didn't even know why he failed, only that
they tested him like cowards and let his apprentice die. The Jedi failed
him in a test without him even knowing how he failed. Ren took the offer
and let go of every bit of the damned Jedi code.
Nevertheless, Ren was influential as it was. He made full use of his
charisma and skill of speech. Ren was a favorite for his patience with
the famously slowly developing apprentices of the planet. He was made
the leader of the Dark Fire Brigade and given the task of taking over
the young Jedi of the planet and conquering it for the Dark
Brotherhood's Sith empire. It was easy for the younglings and
apprentices to choose the path that would allow them power that those
from other planets had the genetics to develop at even decent pace. The
Sith invasion landed within a few years and quickly overcame the aging
Jedi and entire cities were slaughtered while very few resisted the
onslaught of dark Jedi, the planets protectors of "Jedi" having turned
so quickly and sheer numbers alone easily killed off those remaining
loyal to the dying Jedi code.
The Brigade set off the conquering of a planet just by killing a single
apprentice. Who knows what else they are capable of. Click here for shits and giggles
