Bujinkan - Training Hall of the Divine Warrior Name of the organization created by Soke Hatsumi to teach Budo Taijutsu, once called Ninpo Taijutsu or just Ninjutsu.
Founded about 30 years ago. Consists of 9 distinct Japanese martial schools also called ryu. Consisting of three ninpo ryuha and 6 combat ryuha.
Ryu - pl. ryuha- martial schools/traditions
TaiJutsu - Literally mean Body Movement or body technique, used as the name for the unarmed combat system of the Bujinkan.
Budo Taijutsu Name of the Martial art taught in the Bujinkan by Soke Masaaki Hatsumi. Budo meaning War; Taijutsu meaning body technique. So literally Warrior body techniques.

Dakentaijutsu - Striking Methods- Consists of sixteen strikes, called Hokenn Juroppo or the Sixteen Secret Fists, that enable you to accurately hit the right target with the right part of the body
Taihenjutsu -Basic falling, leaping, and evading skills- art of moving the body, utililizing basic tumbling and falling skills. There area many different kinds of rolling skills or Ukemi.
Kamae - Basic Postures Kamae Postures are transitory stances that allow you to maintain balance while performing a technique. Being able to flow from one posture to another is crucial for effective Taijutsu.

Hajutsu Kuho Breaking out art nine methods -The art of escaping grabs by utilizing Taijutsu. There are many types of grabs including wrist grabs and body grabs. Tehodoki is a escape maneuver against a wrist grab. Taihodoki is a escape maneuver against a body grab.
Taisabaki Gata Body evasion skills In martial arts your proper angling, distance, and timing are very important. The first thing to learn is proper distancing and evasion. Move with all of your body from the centerline. Proper distancing gives you more time to act.
Sanshin No Kata
A set of five movement forms or patterns that teach very important principles
of moving your body. Each form has its
own distinct feeling to it and when practiced diligently will give you much
insight into doing advanced techniques.

Nage Waza Throwing Methods Art of taking your opponent off balance and throwing them in a damaging or submissive fashion.
Gotonpo Using the natural elements, to help you escape or to conceal you.

Shime Waza Go Kata The five strangulation techniques. There are two types of strangulation; blood and respiratory. The pressure is generally applied with the feet and hands but the body can serve as support.
Henka Variations of techniques- Allows the art to be limited only to your imagination and skills.
Metsubushi Blinding or distracting techniques. Metsubshi is also a Blinding substance. Use to be made of ground peppers, salt, sand, ground glass and other materials to cause as a eye irritants and/or blindness. Anything that is thrown in the face to cause a distraction is considered a Metsubishi. Thrown into attackers face through pipes, hallowed out eggs, secret compartments in weapons, and hands.

Shuko Hand claws and foot claws- Metal bands with 3 to 5 spikes protruding, which are worn on the hands or feet. Can be used for climbing, striking and grabbing. With training and skill they can be used to stop live blades.
