Yukina is an Ice Apparition from the Ice Island Koorime. She is also, interestingly enough, Hiei's sister. Ice Apparitions are suposed to be all female, reproducing without males. But Hina, Yukina and Hiei's mother, fell in love with a Fire Demon and gave birth to twins, Hiei and Yukina. Because Hiei was a boy, and a Fire Demon, the elders banished him from Koorime, and Hina's best friend Ruri was forced to throw him over the side of the floating island. Hiei of course lived through the fall. Yukina is now trying to find her long lost brother. But as far as I know, he never tells her he's her brother. He thinks it's much better that way.
