Waiting is pain,
waiting is watching,
waiting is standing by unable to do anything,
waiting is seeing.
Seeing loss of function,
seeing limbs purpling,
seeing yet another day without an end,
seeing is crying.
Crying for a mother,
crying for a friend,
crying for one I will never see again,
crying for the dying.
Death is pain,
death is watching,
death is standing ready to steal her away,
death is waiting.
Waiting is marking time in rattling breaths.
