WELCOME TO BAREBACKJACK.COM!
Many of you undoubtedly come to this site with questions as to what barebacking is all about.
And some, I know from experience, come with preconceived notions that barebacking is only for
HIV+positive men or self-destructive individuals who wish to become HIV+positive. Let me assure
you that neither of these notions is correct.
Unlike many other bareback-oriented websites currently on the internet, Barebackjack.com is
a site that focuses on healthy unprotected sex for men of either HIV status. While this may
seem like a contradiction, it isn't. Safe sex is not strictly about donning a condom before
intercourse. It's about using your head. Over the past two decades, we've all been taught that
condoms, though not 100 percent foolproof, are all we need to provide us with protection from HIV and
other sexually transmitted diseases. We've also been taught that not using condoms is something
akin to suicide. But all along there have been men who, for a variety of reasons, have ignored
these teachings and opted to have sex the natural way. And some have found that they can maintain
their HIV-negative status even without the use of condoms. I know. I'm one of them.
The reason I created this site was not because I had a death-wish, as many would like to assume.
And it was not to facilitate the spread of HIV throughout the population. I created this website
in order to help bring awareness to the public that unprotected sex can be both fulfilling and
low-risk as long as common sense and good judgement prevail.
Within the pages of this site, you'll find considerable discussion about how to make "unsafe"
sex safer for both yourself and others. You'll find reminders I've placed here and there that
containing HIV is both everyone's responsibility and the first step in the eradication
if the disease. You'll find I nag my audience on the subject of drug use and abuse within our
community and the role party drugs play in new HIV infections, and you'll also find that I do not encourage
intentional HIV "conversion" (the desire to purposely contract HIV). In fact, I stand
strongly against it.
While other bareback sites may pretend that HIV doesn't exist, or even encourage their audiences
to be sexually reckless, you'll find none of that here. It is my belief that gay and bisexual men
can have even more exciting, stimulating sex without having to sacrifice much ~ including the pleasurable
sensation afforded by natural intercourse without condoms. But here, as opposed to elsewhere,
we treat HIV as a reality... because it is.
Keep in mind that, while Barebackjack.com holds no prejudice against men who are HIV+positive,
it has been developed by an HIV-negative man primarily for the HIV-negative audience. Even so, ALL men,
regardless of HIV status, are encouraged to peruse our pages and join as members. We are not
and never will be exclusionary. And since 1998, we've helped create a large family of members,
friends, and sex partners who have one very notable thing in common: we don't use condoms and we're comfortable
with that.
We have also opened the door to more frank discussion within the community about unprotected
sex and HIV status, and we've worked hard to help reduce the discomfort many people have in dealing
with HIV openly, and the fear and misunderstanding that we as a society have been taught.
I hope you will appreciate the valuable role this website plays within our community. But more
than that, I hope you will find new information and perhaps a new awareness about sexuality
within the broad scope of this website. And, in regards to the adult content contained on the
many pages of our members area, I hope we get you off as well. Obviously the safest sex of all
is the kind you have where you are sitting... right in front of your computer.
So put aside any preconceived ideas about the evils and irresponsibilites of bareback sex and
take a tour of this website. It is truly a class apart from the others in both content and design.
And, hopefully, you'll leave with a better understanding of our purpose... and of the bareback
community as a whole.
Sincerely,
|
