Laugh about this entry if you want, but Peter Criss had a profound effect on Me from the age of 3, when, like so many other kids in the mid 70's, I was hooked on KISS. My brother played the KISS Destroyer record to me back in 1977, and I have been hooked ever since. Yes, Peter was not the greatest drummer out there, but he just had such a feel to his playing. He really was a catalyst to what made KISS sound so good to their fans. Simple fact, Peter Criss was the main reason I wanted to be a drummer. I got to meet him on Halloween night of 1994 when his band was playing at the now-defunct Toy Tiger club in Louisville, KY. I got to dress as Peter since it was Halloween, and he seemed to dig the costume! |
