Still more Yellowstone and Devil's Tower too.

There was just so much to see in Yellowstone.
We took a ranger led hike at West Thumb Geyser Basin. Some of the pools bubbled but none of the geysers at West Thumb erupted while we were there.
We also stopped at Mammoth Hot Springs.

Devil's Tower

After Yellowstone we drove out the east exit of the park.  The next day we went to Devil's Tower National Monument.  It's in eastern Wyoming.  You can see it from a long way away.  It has a nice hiking path around the tower that takes about 1 hour to walk.  Great views from all sides of the tower.
There is a prarie dog town in Devil's Tower National Monument just inside the entrance.

Mt. Rushmore

After Devil's Tower we went on to see Mt. Rushmore, near Rapid City.  The park has changed some since the last time I was there.  They have a new visitor's center and a new $8 parking garage.
Mt. Rushmore and the new visitor center area.
Mt. RushmoreThe mountain looks as good as ever.

Badlands National Park

We stayed overnight at Rapid City.  The next morning we drove through the Badlands.  My wife wondered why her aunt kept asking if we were going to the Badlands.  After she saw them she understood.
