DUTY: A Father, His Son, And the Man Who Won The War

Duty by Bob Greene, 2000, HarperCollins, New York, NY

Bob Green interweaves the story of his father's death with learning about his father's life and the story of Paul Tibbets. Bob's father was a soldier in an infantry division in Europe in WWII. Paul Tibbits was the pilot of the plane that dropped the first atomic bomb on Hiroshima. Bob tells these stories in a way that keeps you from putting it down.

Bob Greene is an excellent writer as all the readers of his column at the Chicago Tribune know very well. I recommend this book highly, it is an excellent read.
