In the name of God, Amen. I Parker Brooks of the county of Sevier and State of Arkansas being sick of body, but of sound mind and memory, considering the uncertainty of this mortal life and certainty of death do wish to dispose of such estate real and personal as I am possessed of and do hereby give and bequeath the same to my family agreeable to the following distribution thereof.
Item 1st: It is my will that all my just Debts, funeral expenses etc be paid as soon as practible and the same to be satisfied out of such amounts as are duily giving to run, so far as they shall extend the balance (if any) to be paid out of such personal property as can be spared best by my family.
Item 2nd: I do give and bequeath unto my beloved wife (Jane) my personal residence, houses, farm, farming utensils, horses, stock, etc until my children shall arrive at lawful age, or during her widowhood unless such part of my farm as may be herein bequeathed to my sons, so that my children may be supported and educated untill they shall come of age, it being my wish that my family remain together, my slaves to remain on the farm under the management of my beloved wife, or any suitable manager of necessary selected by my executors.
Item 3rd: I do give and bequeath to my three eldest sons James A, Robert G. and Edward A two hundred and forty acres of land to be divided so soon as James A shall become of age by three disinterested men appointed by court to be divided according to quantity and quality equally and selected to interfere as little as possible with my present farm -- also a Good Horse and Saddle and bridle to each of the above as they come of age.
Item 4th: It is my will that all produce and increase that may be surplus on my farm not above arranged shall be disposed of the best advantage and the moneys to be placed in careful hands on interest until my son James A. shall be of age after that time for each child to receive a child\rquotes proportion as they severally arrive of age of said moneys.
Item 5th: It is my will that my two eldest daughters (Louisa Jane and Elizabeth Flowers) shall each as soon as of lawful age or shall marry, shall have a good feather bed each and that Louisa Jane shall have a young negro named Simon and Elizabeth Florwers shall have the first increase of Eliza (negro woman and mother of Simon).
Item 6th: It is my will further that this residence of my negroes with their increase be equally divided share and share alike between my children Thomas Jefferson, Joseph John and William Bunker when they shall have arrived to lawful age.
Item 7th: Igive and bequeath to my beloved wife (Jane) my residence farm and land appaertaining not heretofore disposed of and her children by me for their benefit forever together with such stock farming utensils etc as she may require and have in possession for carrying on said farm as heretofore provided.
Item 8th: It is my will that my executors shall collect a certain Estate of my Father\rquote s in North Carolina, my brother Thomas Brooks being my lawful attorney there to settle the same and that (said) executors may order the same by mail at the ------ of my Estate if they think prudent to do so.\par
\tab Lastly: It is my will that James Turrentine and John Robinson be and they are hereby requested and appointed to act as Executors of this my last will and testament, hereby revoking and annulling all wills by me heretofore made.

This day personally appearance before me James Penny clerk of the circuit etc exofficio clerk of the court of probate in and for the county of Sevier aforesaid John W. Pettigrew, Samuel Sloan and Paul R. Booker all personally known by me and being of lawful age subscribing witnesses to this foregoing last will and testament of Parker Brooks late of said county now deceased and made and subscribed the following affadavit to wit.
James W. Pettigrew and Samuel Sloan deposeth as follows to with that they saw the said Parker Brooks sign said will and testament that he was in his right mind at the time and that they at his request signed their names as witnesses thereunto in his presence and in the presence of each other.
