F;rst, I give and bequeath to Margreta my dearly beloved wife the possession of ny dwelling house upon the Plantation an Broad River, near Cedar Creek, and the third From everything, during her lifetime according to our Enlish Law; likewise, the third from the money what are raised and levied out of my estate from all household goods, debts and moveable effects
Secondly, give to my well beloved san, Hans Beat Turnipseed, 150 acres of land lyng on John Kennerlys Creek joining to his own 100 acres of land, for him and his heirs and successors Forever. Also his childs portion, wtth my other chIdren.
Thirdly I give to my well loved son, Jacob Turnipseed, 200 acres of land an Austin's Mill Creek joining Woodreds land, for him, his heirs and soccesors forever and ever and h;s equal portion with my other children; and likewise I constiute make and ordain him sole executor and executors of this my last will and testament
Fourthly, I give to my well beloved son, Felix Turnipseed, my plantation on Broad River near Cedar Creek, consisting oF 250 acres, with all clearings, houses and outhovses and orchards (except that my dearly beloved wife, Margreta during her lifetime as before mentioned receives the third, for her mentioned) to him, his heirs, administrators and sucessors forever and ever
Fifthly, I give to my well beloved daughter, Maria Margreta Turnipseed 150 pounds South Carolina Currency besides her equal childs portion for her, her heirs and successors
I order that my son Jacob Turripseed as exactor and executor of this my last will and testament shall sell at public verdue all my horses, chattles, sheep, hogs and house furniture and moveable effects to the highest bidders, and the money which are levied and raised out of my estate be divided among another, first (according to law) my wife Margreta the third part, and my beloved children all to equal portion-
I do hereby utterly disallow, revoke and disannull all and every other former testaments, wills, legacies, bequests and executors, by me in any ways before named, willed and bequeathed, ratifying and confirming this and no other to my last will and testament. WILL OF JOHN REBSAMEN
In the name of God, Amen. I John Reapsamen of Richland County in the State of South Carolina, planter, being, through the abounded mercy and goodness of God, though weak in body, yet of a sound and perfect understanding and memory, do constitute this, my last will and testament, and do desire it may be received by all as such. First, I most humbly bequeath my soul to God, my maker, beseeching his most gracious acceptance of it through the all sufficient merits and mediation of my most compassionate redeemer, Jesus Christ, who gave himself in attonement for my sins and is able to save to the uttermost all that came unto God by him, seeing he ever livith to make intercession for them, and who I trust will not reject me, a returning penitent sinner: this hope and confidence I render up my soul with comfort humbly beseeching the most blessed and glorious Trinity, one God most holy and most merciful and gracious, to prepare me for the time of my dissolution and then to take me to himself into that peace and rest and incomparable felicity which he has prepared for all that love and fear his holy name, Amen. Blessed be God, I give my body to the earth from whence it was taken in assurance of its resurrection from thence as of the last day. As for my burial, I do desire it may be decent without pomp or state at the discretion of my dear and loving wife, Catherine. First, I do give and bequeath unto my dear and loving wife, Catherine, this house wherein I now dwell, with all the tenaments that lieth about it during her widow-hood. Firstly, I do give and bequeath unto my dear loving wife first before named, Catherine, all and every third part of my moveable effects whatsoever I possess in every manner and form. Secondly, I do give and bequeath unto my dear and loving son, Bartholomew, one certain tract of land containing 100 acres, situate, lying and being on abranch of Little River ont he waters of Broad River, adjoining according to a plot thereof of the original survey generally granted me, John Reapsamen, to him and his body jointly for ever and ever. Thirdly, I do give and bequeath unto my dear and loving son, Jacob, a certain tract of land containing 75 acres, it being a part of a parcel or tract of land containing 150 acres originally granted to me, said John Reapsamen, to him my said dearly beloved son, Jacob, for him and his body only, forever. Fourthly, I do give and bequeath unto my dear and loving son, John a certain plantation or tract of land containing 100 acres. My said John Reapsamen, son, as likewise, 50 acres also I give and bequeath unto my said dearly beloved son, John, as aforesaid, situate, lying and being on the waterso of Broad River, butting and bounding to the East by land adjoining to my aforesaid tract of 150 acres, for him said John Reapsamen, his heirs or body only forever; also I positively do give and bequeath the aforesaid 100 acres situate, lying and being on the North side of Broad River, butting and bounding on three sides by land held by Timothy Rives and to the West by land held by Felix Reapsamen, for him my dearly beloved son, his heirs and body only forever. Fifthly, I do give and bequeath unto my dearly beloved son named Herman a certain tract of land being the remainder part of land first above named 150 acres being part thereof for him, said Herman, his heirs or body only forever, and it is to be observed by my will and testament that the said Jacob Reapsamen and likewise Herman, my dearly beloved two sons, last mentioned, both or either of them shall be equally impowered by my said will they shall without dispute inherit and enjoy the Spring or Springs on said tract of land thereof for them and their body only forever. Sixthly, I do give and bequeath unto my best dearly beloved daughter Barbara, 20 pounds sterling good and lawful money on recompence for her, said Barbara her heirs and assigns, forever. Seventhly, I do give and bequeath unto my two last mentioned, namely, Catherine and Christiank, my beloved daughters each of them 20 pounds sterling, for them and their heirs absolutely, forever. And , seventhly, or lastly, I do positively order that all and every of my moveable effects shall bve equally divided amongst all my said children, for them and their heirs forever and lastly, I do appoint my son-in-law, Adam Hammiter, and Jacob, my dearly beloved son, to be the only whole sole and absolute executors of this my last will and testament and trustees for my wife and children and I do gereby revoke and disannul all and every other will and testament by me heretofore made ratifying and confirming that tis and no other shall be my last will and testament.
