Ladies - Inter County - 19 November 2006 - v Buckingham, Somerset & Gloucestershire

The Dorset team of Kate Cadigan (Jersey), Sharnine Coleman (Haymoor), Tracy Parker (Ferndown), Gemma Barber (Ferndown), Ali Mackenzie (Haymoor) and Anne Holley (South Dorset) , travelled to Somerset for Stage I of the tournament. Playing 3 matches in one day was a big ask, but the ladies came away with some good results beating Buckinghamshire 3-2 and Somerset 4-1 before losing to Gloucestershire 2-3. They finished 2nd out of 4.

Ladies O'40 - 26 November 2006 - v Buckinghamshire & Surrey

Dorset ladies over 40’s team travelled to Aylesbury Squash Club, Buckinghamshire on 26th November to play in Stage I of the Womens over 40 (Division 1 South B) Inter-County Championships. The team consisted of Tracy Parker (Captain), Ali Mackenzie, Wendy Richmond, Lyn McKechnie and Janet Biles.

In our first match against the home team, Buckinghamshire, we were unlucky to lose 4/1, as two out of three matches were lost 10-8 in the fifth game. Tracy and Lyn lost narrowly at strings 1 and 4, whilst Ali won 3/2 at second string (well, one of us had to win!).

Result: Dorset : 7, Buckinghamshire: 19

Our second match against Surrey was equally close. This time we lost 3/2, with Tracy and Wendy winning 3/0 at strings 1 and 3. Lyn again lost narrowly in the fifth, and Ali and Janet also had good matches at 2 and 5.

Result: Dorset I: 10, Surrey: 14

We will play Hampshire on January 7th, when we will hopefully get a much deserved win! The ladies demonstrated a good team spirit and personal determination in their matches. Despite fielding a weaker team than we had hoped, we came very close to winning both matches and feel we did ourselves justice on the day.
