The motto on our home page - “From Ragtime to Swing” - sums up BIG EASY’s repertoire and style. Most of our numbers are based on recordings made by bands such as those of Duke Ellington, Fletcher Henderson, Cab Calloway, etc. Earlier material comes from the likes of Jelly Roll Morton, McKinney’s Cotton Pickers, and King Oliver, and we also do several classic ragtime numbers. Most of the arrangements are based on recordings made by these classic bands in the 1920s and 30s. Some arrangements (including the ragtime pieces) have been developed from piano copies. All the arrangements are by band members.
Our current repertoire is listed below in “Book” order. Vocals are indicated by “LL”, “TP”, “KD”, ”PF” “Band”, to indicate Linda Leigh, Terry Perry, Ken Dickinson, Pete Fryer, and “The Band” respectively.
