Big Brother episode recut

13may03

TWO different versions of Channel Ten's Big Brother are to be broadcast on Thursday after revelations by a housemate that a teenage relative is serving time in jail for murder.

Separate programs will be aired in Queensland and the rest of Australia on Thursday night after the housemate told other contestants in the reality series that a sister, aged 17, was in prison in Queensland for murder.

The comments, which took Big Brother producers by surprise, cannot be aired in Queensland because they could identify the sister, who is a minor.

A statement issued by the program tonight reported that details about the incident will go to air on the "uncut" version of the show.

Meanwhile, an edited version of the program will be broadcast in Queensland so that the housemate and the imprisoned relative are not identified.
