                              Banaras Hindu University has its own fiber cable computer networks through out its campus with a 10geg multimode backbone fiber links with due redundancy with 1 gaga byte single mode fibers. It has a heavy duty cisco core switch installed at its computer center which scatters bandwidth to the 12 distribution switches (Cisco at Departments and Entrasys at Hostels).              Distribution switches distributes bandwidth to the 180 access switches (all cisco) to switch internet facilities and computing facilities to the entire university campus. Banaras Hindu University has 1:1 standard leased lines from Reliance infocom(60Mbps),BSNL(50Mbps) and ERNET (2Mbps).
