| These pictures look like an old camera took them, or the film was old, but this is how it looked in Fairbanks. The forest fires can be devastating, anywhere. I heard several stories while in Alaska. A few years ago, a fire got very near to Lynda Plettner's kennel. Martin Buser, living nearby, saved his home/kennel by "borrowing the firetruck." I assume it was not in use at the moment! It was said that Ken Anderson was in our hotel, while we were there, fleeing from the fire. Jessica Royer moved her dogs to Susan Butcher's place for safety. This is a big undertaking when you not only have personal belongings, but 50, 100 or more dogs to tranport to a new place, is quite an undertaking. |
