32 ENOCH TOMLINSON was born in N.C. in 1793 and in 1816 married Arminta Bishop by whom was born 4 sons and 8 daughters, a Roosevelt family sure. However, only five of them lived to marry and leave families. As to his characteristics we know nothing other than that he kept a very cross dog. My father, James W. Heath, was going there one day on an errand and knowing the vicious disposition of the dog took a gun with him and they met on the foot bridge as described in the above sketch but he never attacked anybody after that.

Enoch sold his farm to his son James A. who is still in possession of it and moved to Warrensburg, Mo. where he died in 1856 at the age of 64.

OBITUARY
DIED--At her residence in this county on the 11th inst. Arminty, consort of Enoch Tomlinson, aged about 52 years.

The deceased was born and reared in North Carolina, whence she emigrated to this State with her husband and family, in 1828.

She has left a companion, with whom she had lived and shared the enjoyments and trials of life for 31 years, and a number of children to deplore the loss they sustained by her death; but she had given them the comfortable evidence, that what was their loss was her gain.
