53 NATHAN DWIGGINS, born 1835, married 1858 to Martha Jackson, by whom was born one son and two daughters. Leroy F., born 1859, married 1879 to Sarah E. Benefield. He is a painter living at Elwood, Ind. Francis Dwiggins died 1864, age 3. Celestia Dwiggins, born 1864 married 1880 to Calvin Baldwin of Elwood. They have two sons and one daughter.

FIFTIETH WEDDING ANNIVERSARY MR. AND MRS. LIKENS
Event Celebrated By Well Known White River Township Couple
WALNUT GROVE, March 11 - Mr. and Mrs. William Likens entertained in honor of their golden wedding anniversary at their home in White River township east of Walnut Grove Sunday. Mrs. Likens, the former Miss Maranda J. Dwiggins, was born in Madison county in 1860, the daughter of Rufus and Mary Ellen Dwiggins, later removing to White River township, north of Aroma. William Likens, the son of Jacob and Polly Likens was born in Hamilton county in 1857. Mr. Likens and Miss Dwiggins were united in marriage March 11, 1880, at the brides home. Justice of the Peace, Doc Finley, of Strawtown, made the trip to the home of the bride on horseback and performed the ceremony in the absence of Rev. Albright, who was attending conference. The nuptial rites were read at 2:30 p.m. in the presence of sixty-five persons. following the ceremony a wedding supper was served. But eleven of the sixty-five wedding guests are living and eight of these attended the celebration Sunday, namely Mrs. Eli Rogers, Mrs. Cora Simmonds, sisters of Mrs. Likens and Ezra Likens brother of Mr. Likens....

William Likens Funeral Was Held Thursday
William Likens, age seventy-five, died at his home near Harvey's Chapel Tuesday afternoon. The deceased had not been in good health for the past year or two but he was not confined to his bed until a short time before his death which was the result of kidney trouble. He spent all of his life in White River township. He is survived by the widow, two sisters, Mrs. Thomas Clark and Miss Helen Likens, of Elwood, and two brothers, Ezra Likens, near Elwood, and Joe Likens, near Frankton. The funeral was held at the Perkinsville M. E. Church Thursday afternoon and the burial was at Elwood.

Services Conducted In M. E. Church at Perkinsville
Perkinsville, Ind. April 7 -- Funeral services for Mrs. William Likens were conducted Monday afternoon at the Methodist Episcopal church by Rev. Ralph Richardson, of Alexandria, and Rev. C. D. Pyle. A quartet sang and Rev. James H. Welsh, of the East Lynn Christian church at Anderson sang, "Face to Face". Six nephews were pallbearers. Mrs. J. C. Peck wrote and read the obituary. The Perkinsville Ladies Aid members attended the services. Mrs. Likens had belonged to the society since it was organized more than thirty years ago. Among those attending the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Lennis, of Indianapolis; Mrs. Belle Beckwith, Mrs. John Sharp, of Frankton; Rev and Mrs. James H. Welsh, Chester Rogers, of Anderson; Mrs. Roy Sprinkle of Walton; Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Allye, of Marion; Everette Clark of Lafayette; Mr. and Mrs. Ezra Likens, Mr. and Mrs. Tom Clarke of Elwood; Mrs. Edgar Turner, Mrs. Claude Anderson, of Lapel.

BURIAL OF ELI ROGERS, SUNDAY
Father of Burl Rogers, Farmer Living Near Aroma
PERKINSVILLE, Ind. Ind. Dec 14. - Funeral services for Eli Rogers who died at the home of his son in Anderson, Friday night was held at the residence in Anderson, Sunday. Rev. E. A. Bunner, pastor of the Aroma M. E. Church had charge. Burial in the Frankton cemetery. Mr. Rogers, who was 76 years of age, was a life-long resident of the Frankton community. He was married to Alice Wiggins, who with the two sons, Chester, of Anderson, and Burl of Aroma survive. In August 1930, Mr. Rogers met with an accident while riding in a grain truck which resulted in him being an invalid. About ten months ago he suffered a stroke of paralysis. He has been confined to his bed ever since being at the homes of his sons during his illness.

Mrs. William Likins, of Perkinsville and Burl Rogers of Aroma, were called to Anderson by the demise of Eli Rogers whose death occurred at 10 p.m. Friday, at the home of another son, Chester Rogers.
