Samuel C. Tomlinson and Martha Styres (1859) had eight children. Daughters Nova Blanch (b. 1887), Nina (b.1891) and Ina H. (b. 1894). Sons Harry Crittendon (b. 1883), Haven Charles (b.1884), Harold C. (b. 1885?), Earl C. (b.1892), and Clark Leander (b.1889).

Samuel and Martha moved to Montana around 1891. She did not like it out there and returned to Indiana with the children by 1894. According to my grandfather, his father rode lookout on a stage coach and had a carpet cleaning business (consisting of equipment to hang up carpets and beat them free of dust) in Billings Mt. later on. He eventually remarried and moved to Roseville California where he died in 1936.

Harry Tomlinson was murdered in Hawaii and Haven Tomlinson was hit by a car and died in Indianapolis.

Clark Leander rejoined his father later in Montana where he owned an early garage/gas station whose clientele included Buffalo Bill Cody. He also spent time prospecting and working various mines. Clark Leander had daughter Ethel Mae by first wife(?), then daughter Nina Mae (b.1917) and Robert Leander (b.1921) by second wife, Thelma Juanita Buffington (b. 1899).
