Scalloped Potatoes

 

Potatoes

All purpose flour

Salt

pepper

1 tablespoon onion chopped (optional)

Butter

Milk

Grated Cheddar cheese (optional)

 

Slice pared potatoes as thin as possible. Place a layer of potatoes in a buttered casserole, dust with a little flour, season with salt, pepper and onion. Dot with butter, generously. Repeat the layer of potatoes, flour and seasonings. Fill casserole to about ¾ full. Add enough milk to reach the top layer. Use plenty of butter. Top with grated cheese. Bake in a preheated oven at 325* for about 1½ hours. The number it will serve will depend on the size of your casserole.
