Butterscotch Sauce

 

1 cup light corn syrup

½ granulated sugar

½ cup light brown sugar 

¼ teaspoon salt

½ cup half and half

2 tablespoons butter

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

 

In a heavy saucepan combine all ingredients, except vanilla. Bring to a rolling boil over medium heat, stirring constantly. Reduce heat and boil 10 minutes. Remove from heat and add vanilla. To reheat place over hot water, not boiling water. If the sauce should become too thick add a little cream.
