CLASS HISTORY
It was a sunny day in June, we entered our classroom and saw unfamiliar faces staring at us. A girl wearing a tube top smiled as if trying to make an instant connection and introduced herself as Paula Apostol. Behind her was a group of snickering boys, two of them looked unfamiliar and we learned that they were Irwin Viray and Luigi Lejano. A light from behind caught our attention and we glanced at it, we saw an egg-shaped headed guy standing by the door. This egghead is none other than Richard Singh.
Our new teachers entered the room and introduced themselves as Ms. Noemi and Ms. Connie. After settling down, everyone else introduced themselves. A girl in red said she was Jasmine Resurreccion and a reed-looking girl was Arnellie Moraleta. Two girls with unfamiliar faces sat beside each other since the first day they met and they were Danice Ohara and Michelle Canoy.
Finally, during break time, we got the chance to know the new students from the other section. As we enter their room, Arriane introduced us to Malou Bince and Gian Fuerza. Somewhere around us we heard the high-pitched laughter of new students namely, Mirei Tan and Anne Abelido. While walking, we saw three odd-looking boys and heard they were TJ Cabuchan, Martin Capulong and Niko Morikawa. Just when we were about to reach the stairs, we saw two more fresh faces, Cara Eusebio and Cherry Lou Hilao.
We spent our freshman year at the hottest classrooms in MIS. Leaving us with such wonderful memories with friends like Gabby Oblefias, Bernadette Caintic, Kristoffer Marinas and Clariness Tapales. We could never forget the way TJ sleeps with his head inside his bag. We were the only batch who had an outreach program instead of a soiree. Everyone spent an entire afternoon with one child.
Another school year had passed. Second year was the most memorable school year we ever had (almost everyone agrees). We once again saw Carmina Castro and met new friends like Jake Ona, Francis Magalona, Jr., with his sister Saab Magalona, and of course, the music man, Teddy Katigbak. This was also the year when our former classmate and friend, Catherinne Llana, returned to MIS. This year, we were again given a new set of advisers. Ms. Connie, who was our therapist in first year became the adviser of II-A, while II-B had Ms. Gel (who followed us until our fourth year). One super cool therapist at the time was Sir Jap. We had the best intramurals and Cheering Competition ever. Our Christmas presentation was also unforgettable when the department tried to recreate Harry Potter and called it Christmas at Hogwarts.
Then came our Junior year. Once more, Section A had a new adviser in the person of Sir Angel, but more popularly known to us as Batas. The COCC was dubbed as Rookie Training and was opened to all year levels. We also had our Christmas Party with the other year levels. We also had a new venue for our Bivuoac, the memorable Daraitan with Tata X. In our Junior Year, we had the worst retreat ever for the batch was divided into boys and girls. Of course, our Junior year would be incomplete without remembering Ms. Joanne, our therapist at the time and her different claps (Yes Clap, Fireworks Clap at kung anu-ano pang clap!) and Ms. Girlie whose patience was never waned.
Now that we are Seniors, the year that the undergraduates look up to, we had a year of accomplishments, adjustments, hardships, trials and realizations. A new system was introduced and our batch was divided into three sections (instead of the usual two)with different advisers for each section. Also, we did not have any therapist this year. We have the best set of advisers in the whole MIS history Ms. Lolit (who often called us pasaway) for IV-A, Ms. Gel (whos been with us FOREVER!) for IV-B and Sir Benjo (the newest staff in the department though he seemed like weve known him forever, too!) became the adviser of IV-C.
The Junior Senior Promenade, where we became princes and princesses for at least a night was held at Shangri-La Hotel. The event that took us so long to prepare ended in just a snap.
We also had our retreat at the most unexpected place, Binangona, Rizal. We all thought we will be spending these three days and two nights in the cool place, Tagaytay, so you can imagine the surprise (and yes, disappointment) when the teachers said will be going to Binangonan instead. What started as a bad trip retreat became the most heartfelt retreat we ever had. In the shortest three days of our lives, we wished it would never end.
The Intramurals that never ended, along with the Cheering Competition (where we placed 2nd AGAIN!), will always be a part of our most wonderful memories in Montessori memories we would not trade for all the money in the world.
MIS Batch 2005 will not be memorable if it were not for the trials which made us realize the importance of perseverance, wisdom and most of all, friendship. The fights, the parties, the laughter, the tears, we had shed will not be forgotten and will forever be remembered.
MIS, you have given us the four most memorable and most wonderful years of our lives. Being a part of the MIS family makes us proud ad someday, we will make you, our dear Alma Mater, just as proud.
