Raiding is done to bring a little fun and enjoyment to Gor as well as to test help those that wield weapons upon Online Gor to learn and grow. We of Besnit believe that by raiding and defend Our homes helps Us grow to love them even more. As Men We know that even though the walls are strong, the houses well built. Our Citys, Camps, Ports, ect ect are as mortal as We ourselves are. Our Citys depend upon Us to keep them alive.
The duty of the Warriors is to defend the land of there home, with there life if need be. To bring that out in those We raid, that feeling, that sense of "This is My home, I shall defend My home with My life." That is a true feeling, that is the kind of feeling that is needed in building a good and strong homestone. Without that, You have nothing.
Our wish is to help instill this feeling among the Men of Gor for there homes if possible by Raiding, as well as show off the strength and skill of the Our Raiders. These rules have been thought of and alot of time was spent making sure Every little detail that We could think of was taken care of, Please read and follow these rules when Raiding Besnit.
At least Two Men of Besnit need to be in the city for a raid to happen. The number of raiders should not be over one or two people more then is present in the city. It is the Raid commanders duty to tell those that exceed this limit to stand down.
Two posts upon entrence are required when raiding, in these state how You are attacking Besnit be it Tarn back, kailla, ect ect. Two posts will get You to the gates, and in that time You should be able to see if the gates are open or closed. The wall surrounding the camp stands at about ten feet in height. Durring the two posts per raider for approching, the Guards of the gates of Besnit will have enough time to call out and warn the Men of the city, after such an action the NPC's are no longer used and it is down to just those raiding and those defending.
Slaves have no place in the raids of Besnit, they were known to be used in Wars this is true, but Raiding and Wars are two diffrent situations all together. Such actions as a slave throwing things such as rocks and pans will not be recognized.
Raiding should take no longer then 20 to 30 min, Raids were done quickly, in and out, fight Who You can, take what You can and get out.
Depending upon the size of the Raiding party, one or two Raid commanders will be needed. It is understandable that forces maybe split and attack in two diffrent places at the same time. When the Raid commander or commanders call retreat, All of the raiders are to do there best to get out of the camp as quickly as they can, one or two posts are required to get You away from the battle for a safe place to distance Yourself for the retreat. Unless swamped by attacks, in such cases it may take more posts to do so realisticly.
Captures durring the raiding, if You are captured You go or stay depending upon which side, a return raid is likely or a possible barter. If neither come, those captured by Us will become the property of Besnit to do with as We please. Likewise if One of Besnit is Captured and not gotten back it is up to Those that have captured that person to decide what to do with them. As We all know, not everyone can be on at the same time, One week is given to gain back a capture by raiding or trade of some sort.
Study the map provided of Besnit, this allows the most of the city to be used.
Try and remember where You are, if You are fighting someone near the servery, You can not realisticly attack someone that is at the gates without using a long range weapon such as a bow, a throwing weapon at that distance would most likely fall very short. It is possible to do such but if You are in combat with another that leaves You dangerously open to attack as You would have to put down Your sword, axe, staff or what not to use the bow as it requires two hands.
Those raiding will need to add "Raider" to there tags before entrence, this keeps the confusion down. Visiting Men of Besnit are not to participate in the raids unless permission is given by One of Besnit, being the Chief or First Sword, if neither are present any Free Man of Besnit can say yes or no.
Posts durring the raiding should alternate, with a five min time limit between posts. This gives those that are attacked four to one a chance to respond equaly to all attacks. If no responce comes in such time the wounds are inflicted and go undefended.
There are many tricks and ploys to raiding that We know and will use when raiding, if You have one that is realistic that gets You into the camp without the required two approuching posts and without warning Raiders are welcomed and encouraged to try it. This brings a whole new level to the raiding and to the thinking and planning needed in doing such.
