This command may only be one word, but it may be used with slight emphasis in a sentence, to hide it. This command is obeyed instantly, unless it is ambiguous, in which case temporary confusion ensues. 2 - Mesmerize Man. + Leadership, difficulty Willpower The vampire can give commands to a target, which may be as simple or detailed as desired. Eye contact must be maintained throughout the command, but is not necessary once the command has been given. (levels of effect) 1 -The target will not act in defiance of her nature, or her usual behavior, but she is otherwise obedient. 3 -The target can be made to act in ways that she otherwise wouldn’t, except in the case of self-endangering behavior. 5 -Nearly any command may be given, Storyteller nimdyd excepted. 3 - The Forgetful Mind Wits + Subterfuge, difficulty Willpower With eye contact, the vampire can alter her target’s memories. (levels of effect) 1 -The vampire may cause limited memory loss lasting a day, with control over which memories are lost. 2 -The vampire may cause more permanent memory loss. 3 -The vampire may make slight alterations to her victim’s memory. 4 -The vampire may alter or remove an entire scene from her victim’s memory. 5 -The vampire may reconstruct entire periods of a victim’s life. 4 - Conditioning Cha. + Leadership, difficulty Willpower The vampire may add to the number of successes she has accumulated in someone she is dominating. Once she has accumulated a number of successes from five to ten times her victim’s Self-Control, the victim will act as if dominated even in the vampire’s absense. Such a victim will continue to obey the vampire, even when not dominated, and the difficulty for all other vampires to try to dominate her is increased by two. 5 - Possession Cha. + Intimidation, difficulty 7 Resist: Willpower, difficulty 7 With continuous eye contact, the vampire may possess a mortal, but goes into torpor in so doing. Each success by the vampire costs the victim a willpower point. Each success by the victim gives her an extra die the next round. A botch by the vampire makes the victim permanently immune to all Dominate attempts by that vampire. The actual possession (and torpor) occurs when the victim has no willpower points. FORTITUDE: 3 NECROMANCY: 8 1 - Insight Per. + Occult, difficulty 8 The vampire may look into the eyes of a target no longer living, and see the last things they saw. The difficulty to use this power is 10 if the target is a vampire. (levels of effect) 1 -The vampire sees how the victim died. 2 -The vampire sees a rough impression of the victim’s final minutes. 3 -The vampire sees and hears a rough impression of the victim’s final minutes. 4 -The vampire sees and hears the last half-hour of the victim’s life. 5 -The vampire completely understands the last hour of the victim’s life. 2 - Summon Spirit Per. + Occult, difficulty 6 Resist: Willpower, difficulty 6 The vampire may summon a spirit, and speak with it. For each question asked, roll the number of successes in the initial roll; failure means that contact is lost. The vampire must know the name of the spirit, and have a fetter, to use this power. 3 - Compel Man. + Occult, difficulty Willpower The vampire may attempt to control a spirit, once she has summoned it. botch The spirit is pissed off, and attacks. failure The spirit is free to leave, and free to attack. (levels of effect) 1 -The spirit must remain, and can not attack anyone without the consent of the vampire. 2 -As above. Additionally, the spirit must truthfully answer questions. 3 -As above. Additionally, the spirit must truthfully -- and completely -- answer questions. 4 -As above. Additionally, the spirit must follow the orders of the vampire. If unwilling, it may intentionally misinterpret orders or follow them poorly. 5 -As above, but the spirit must do the best of which it is capable to follow orders. 4 - Haunting Man. + Occult, difficulty Willpower The vampire may force a spirit into the world of the living, for one day per success. The spirit may still use Argos to escape. The difficulty to use this power is 4 if the spirit is willing. 5 - Soul Stealing Man. + Occult, difficulty Willpower + Occult The vampire may force a soul out of its body, treating it as a spirit. The unoccupied body deteriorates as if dead or in torpor, and the spirit must spend a willpower point to return to it. In the meantime, the spirit treats its body as a fetter, and has no Arcanos. The difficulty to use this power is 6 if the victim is willing. 6 - Zombie The vampire may create a zombie from a body that has been dead for less than eight hours. This zombie has one more point in each of Strength and Stamina, and a Dexterity of one. Zombies can only move at ten feet per minute, and must be fed one blood point daily. 7 - Torment Sta. + Empathy, difficulty Willpower The vampire may psychically assault a spirit. Each success inflicts one level of damage, and causes the spirit pain. 8 - Soul Exchange Man. + Occult, difficulty 7 Demand: successes = sum of Willpowers, or more The vampire may switch souls between two bodies. Both victims must be within eyesight of the subject, and within ten feet of each other. OBFUSCATE: 3 1 - Cloak of Shadows The vampire may be unnoticed by most, by hiding completely motionless in a shadow, or in a place that puts an object (not necessarily an object big enough to hide behind) between herself and others who might see her. 2 - Unseen Presence Wits + Stealth, difficulty 6 The vampire may go unseen, and even be subconsciously avoided, by others. No roll is required unless someone is looking for the vampire, or the vampire is moving in an abrupt manner, as during speech or combat. 3 - Mask of the Thousand Faces Man. + Acting, difficulty 7 The vampire may assume another appearance. This is only in the minds of others, and often others will see different forms. This power may not usually be used for impersonation. (levels of effect) 1 -A little different. She could still be picked from a police lineup. 2 -A bit more different. Descriptions vary. 3 -The desired appearance is successfully broadcast. 4 -Appearance, movements, and mannerisms are all radically different. 5 -Even race or gender can be altered. Once a target has spent one willpower point for each success, the effect is ignored, and the target can not be affected for the rest of the scene. The effect only lasts for 24 hours, and may therefore have to be repeated. The cries of a child escaped as he was taken from the womb of his mother, the doctors looked at the child, it was nothing out of the ordinary the birthing went uncomplicated at least for the medical standards considered in the day and age. The son of a whore, she named her son Leontas, for the Greek heritage shared by her parents, long passed away. She did not know who the father was, simply that she had found herself in the thrall of powers unknown to her upon his conception and thus she vowed to herself that her son would never know the pain of the life she had, he would be strong, he would grow up well. Such is why she named her son for the fierce lion. June 21st 1809 - A boy moved through the streets, an orphan that had been taken in by one of the many churches, how normal it seemed for the parents to abandon their children on the doorsteps of the Church, the boy could recall at least twenty others like himself in the last five years alone. The church had to find homes for some of them, a young Leontas decided at the tender age of 11 he would make his own way; he would not beg and grovel for the meager scraps of food any longer. During the day he tried to call out the events of the city for bits of change to feed him and one other that had decided to try his fate with him. Adalfieri, at night if the days earnings did not turn out well, and often they did not, the two young boys took to stealing what they needed, scavenging scraps of food from the dumpsters. Even then whispers of America spoke to the two young boys, almost twenty years after the industrial revolution had taken place, unknown to the two youthful minds that recession had taken place a year earlier, it had to be better then digging scraps out of the gutter. Thus the two boys spent most of the day dreaming, their stomachs rumbled things had only gotten worse in the last two years for the boys, two years since Britain outlawed slavery, immigrants had traveled all over the world, many often as poor as the two small boys, many often as despite, downtrodden. January 1st 1815 - After much travel and planning, the two young men now, Leontas at the age of 17, Adalfieri was only a year behind him; the way to America had finally come into their hands. Posing as British soldiers they had managed to steal upon one of the last ships headed towards America to take part in the final moments of the War of 1812, three years had the war ran on and there were hopes that it would end soon enough, the war having taken its toll on both the British and the Americans, it would be easy pickings the two men though. December 9th 1820 What a wonder was this America, this New York City, the industry had boomed well indeed and both had been able to find jobs quickly, Leontas worked for a local butcher who supplied often enough supplied meats to the upper class society, Adalfieri, now simply going by Adalf had found work in one of the many steel mills that had sprung up around that time, both of the two had managed to save up over the years for a small apartment. There was only one bed, and often enough they would take turns sleeping on it, Leontas would bring home great bits of various meats for them to feast on. On this day however, he came back to the apartment to find Adalf depressed, the other young man had lost his job when the first depression had settled into the American culture. They feasted well enough that night, it was a turning point however for the two young men, Adalf began to grow bitter and hateful, even as food remained upon the table from the hard working Leontas, though he knew well enough that such work could not truly support the two men. It was a week later that Leontas applied for a job at a bank, and miracle of miracles he managed to get it, he had always been good with numbers and counting. Thinking that perhaps for the time being it would be a good job; Leontas brought Adalf to the butchers to work while he went off to start the new life as a banker. Adalf was infuriated at this, though he said nothing he worked but all the time the feeling of unease, as if he were lesser then Leontas, which he would one day become greater then his friend, the first true signs of greed began to show in his eyes. January 27, 1829 For eight long years Leontas worked within the bank, being promoted here and there as he gained more knowledge of the financial world, and continued to be pleasing to those that owned the company. Over the years he had been watched, his hard work, the ruthless aggression that he showed in getting the job done. It was in truth all that he had left, Adalf had left a year after Leontas got the new position, opting to go out on his own, scorned and ashamed at his own lack of self advance. It in part left Leontas bitter himself, and thus he threw himself head first into the work provided for him. It was on this night however, at one of the many company events that for some reason the lowly bank manager had been invited to. It was upon this night, that the world changed. He met with many high ranking officials from all around the world, and spoke, conversing as if he belonged there. It impressed the bank owners so much, as well as his track record to further reward the man. The party soon began to die down as Leon started to leave he was called back to the gathering by another figure, it was when his eyes were thrust wide open. His entire life changed in those few moments as power and opportunity were both thrust into his hands, it began as such a simple thing, his ghouling, and his right of entry into the Giovanni family. January 27th 1849 twenty years from the initial ghouling, Leontas was turned fully into a vampire. More details to come later.
