September 11, 2001 Remembrance
By Beau_Lis

This was a difficult piece to write because of the memories that came flooding back from the tragic events of that day. And now, a year later, we are getting ready to remember; to honour; to pay tribute to the families who have been effected and to those we lost on September 11, 2001.

Most of us will never be able to forget the events of that day. In fact, years later, each of us will probably be able to tell the next generation where we were and what we were doing at that moment in time, 'when the world stopped turning'.

And when the time comes to share the events of that day, we can tell our future generations what had taken place. However, we must remember to include not only the vicious acts brought against us that day, but also share the hope the world had. Tell about the faceless heroes who gave what they could to help others, even sacrificing their own lives. Tell about the pride of our country and the unity of our people. Tell about the entire world uniting together for the first time in history. Tell our future generations that even though this was an act of cowardice against innocent people, we still went on in hope and those we lost did not die in vain. They died with the love of the world in them.

Nothing can change the events of the past. But we can change the events of our future.

So we ask that you each take a moment to remember those from September 11, 2001 with honour, respect and hope in your hearts.

Author's Note: This is a tribute I had written for the first year anniversary of Spetember 11, 2001. May God bless and keep us all.
