Drouin Dictionaire, Vol.II, p.1281, also gives the information that Nicolas
Thibaut was a "Tailleur" and "Boulanger", before leaving France for the New
France.
1406. Paul II CHALIFOUR-M-CH119-6
While still in France, Paul II renounced his Calvinist religion to become a Catholic. He lm. Marie Jeannet, 10 Apr 1644 at Notre-Dame-de-Cogne de LaRochelle. Marie was a native of Forges, canton of Aigrefeuille-d'Aunis, arrondissement of Rochefort. Her father was Claude Jeannet, merchant at LaRochelle, and her mother was Jeanne Maillebault. Paul II was a carpenter. On 5 June 1645, a daughter Marie was baptised at the font of Notre-Dame.
Wife, Marie Jeannet and her their child, Marie, probably died before 1647, the year Paul II decided to come settle in Canada, just before his 35th birthday. Did he come to Canada on the ship, "Marguerite" chartered by Pierre LeGardeur and Noel Juchereau? (To be determined).

1407. Jacquette ARCHAMBAULT-M-CH119-7
Jacquette came to Canada in 1646 with her parents. At age 16, she m. Paul- Charles Chalifour II, widower of Marie Jeannet, on 28 Sep 1648. She spent her life in the region of quebec and raised a family of fourteen. (see B-119-6, Bernier file: Chalifour, Paul-Charles). Jacquette was buried on 17 Dec 1700
at Notre-Dame de Quebec, Quebec, Can.Ref. OFCA, Vol.19. p.30-31
