996. Gilles-Julius TROTIER-B156-2
Gilles I (also known as Julius) arrived in Canada c. 1646. His son,
Jean-Baptiste was born at sea, enroute to their new home. Gilles/Julius
enroute to their new home. Gilles I/Julius was a master carpenter and
cattle-breeder. The TROTIERS of America All descend from Julius. He, seemingly
a common citizen, came with his family to Canada about the year 1645. His
children married in Canada, and in the course of time, had large families. They
obtained extensive estates and were very lavish in originating titles for the
same. In a few years, we find TROTIER, Sieur des Ruisseaux, TROTIER Sieur des
l'Isle Perrot, TROTIER Sieur de Beaubien. Many of these TROTIERS gradually
dropped the family name and signed only the assumed title. Hence, we have the
families of BEAUBIEN, DESRUISSEAUX, etc. All these trace to a common ancestor,
Julius TROTIER.References:

Noel arrived in Canada from Tourouvre, France c. 1665. He was in the employ of Pierre LeFebvre of Trois-Rivieres. He was approx. 19 years of age.
He m. Marie-Jeanne Toussaint, (Fille du Roy), c. 1672, Trois-Rivieres area. (See "The Kings Daughters",p.49, by

Jeanne Toussaint was a "Fille-du-Roi" (King's Daughter), parents unknown.
Per reference Drouin, Jean was a wheelright and farmer. Also for a complete

3, p. 67-74. The family was also known as Creste.

Marguerite came to New France with her brothers, Francois and Pierre prior to
her marriage to Jean Creste-Crete 13 Sep. 1654.
Marie Gendre lm Jean-Baptiste Bourgery in 1645. They had 2 sons, 2 daus.
