Jacques, born in France, was hired at LaRochelle 31 Mar 1665 to go to New
France. He arrived at Quebec, in the company of Francois-Louis Thibaud, Pierre
Nepveu, Guillaume Bertrand and others on the ship "Cat de Hollande" later in
1665. After his marriage in 1677, he and his family lived at St-Augustin and
Lauzon, Que.

was a descendant of Frere Andre and a Chirurgeon (surgeon). The Thunay-
Dufresnes are closely related to Julien Rivard I, dit Laglanderie-Dufresne,
who m. Elisabeth Thunay-Dufresne, dau. of Felix. Some descendants of this
couple took the name of Rivard\Dufresne as a surname.

Marie Dumays was a "Fille-du-Roy", (King's Daughter). She arrived in Quebec c.
1669, given a small dowry and household items by the King of France, to marry
in Quebec and help populate the French colony of New France (Canada).


975. Martine TAUREY-B139-3

Martine, bap. at Notre-Dame du Chemin, Orleans, FR, daughter of deceased
Nicolas Taurey and Marie Margot, signed, then annulled a marriage contract
with Pierre Sasseville 23 Aug 1670 before marrying Nicolas Marcotte (Marquotte)
14 Sep 1670 at Quebec. She was a "daughter of the King". Her dowry of 300
300 pounds included 50 from the King.
