California's Route 52

352.  Route 52 is from Route 5 east of La Jolla to Route 67 near Santee.


      Entire route.


      Entire route.  It's called the Soledad Freeway.


      Entire route.  Youch!


      This route is an F&E System member, a freeway in its entirety, and a scenic route in its entirety.
Such phenomenon almost never happens in this state!  It can happen, though.
      For me, the western end of Route 52 at Route 5 is totally unique, since it's simple and yet twisted
at the same time.  The junction, in fact, is on the very hillside of La Jolla, with Ardath Rd at the very top.

      Notice that the ramp from Route 5 heading north to Ardath Road is quite long.  This is so because it's
going at a grade up into a hillpass (Route 52's ramp to Ardath Rd is fairly leveled to meet the ramp at the pass).
Also, there's no ramp whatsoever to get from Ardath Rd to Route 5 heading north and back.
