California's Route 241

Route 241 is from Route 5 south of San Clemente to Route 91 in the City of Anaheim. [CS&HC Sec. 541]

Status

Unconstructed from Route 5 to Oso Parkway. Toll road from Oso Parkway to Route 91.

History

  • 1964-1965: Route 241 was from Route 11 (current Route 110) near Adams Street to Route 11 near Elysian Park in Los Angeles.
  • 1968-1972: Route 241 from Route 1 to Route 101 near Oak and Fell Streets in San Francisco transferred from Route 80.
  • 1988: Current route defined from Route 231 near the Cities of Tustin and Irvine to Route 5 south of San Clemente.
  • 1996: Portion from Route 231 (current Route 133) transferred from Route 231.

    Constructed portion from Oso Parkway to Route 91. It was once called the "Foothill Transportation Corridor", but now it is known as the "Foothill Toll Road" from Route 5 to Route 133 and the "Eastern Toll Road" from Route 133 to Route 91.

    Notes

    Routes 73, 133, 241, and 261 are the toll routes that traverse southern Orange County. The maximum toll on Route 241 for a two-axle vehicle from Oso Parkway to Route 91 is $4.25. FasTrak is available. For more information, visit the Transportation Corridor Agencies page.
