California's Route 22322. Route 22 is from: (a) Route 1 near Long Beach to Route 405. (b) Route 405 to Route 55 near Orange.
Route 22 from: (a) Studebaker Road in Long Beach to Route 405. (b) Route 405 to Route 55 near Orange. [CS&HC Sec. 253.3]
From Studebaker Road, past Route 405, to Route 55. This portion is called the "Garden Grove Freeway".
As Daniel Faigin pointed out, Route 22 had a third portion which continued from Route 55 in Orange eastwardly to Irvine Park. That portion was deleted in 1965. Personally, it would be a wise thing to reinstate this portion since it could be very useful as a feeder to the Orange County toll roads, Route 241 in particular.
Cal State Long Beach is right on Route 22 in Long Beach near the junction with Route 1. If you wish, you can visit the city of Santa Ana's web site. There, you can find many nice goodies from the capital of Orange County.
Route 22, along with Routes 5 and 57 in Santa Ana form the evil Orange Crush. As you might know, this interchange was seriously upgraded, adding a bunch of carpool lanes and other seemingly useless things. It's quite tricky, so be very careful, especially when it comes to changing lanes! California State Highways (Pull-down) California State Highways (Tables) The Main Page
