California's Route 205

Route 205 is from Route 580 west of Tracy to Route 5 east of Tracy. [CS&HC Sec. 505]

    Entire route. It is called the "Robert T. Monagan Freeway", named after the Tracy city councilman who also served in the California State Assembly (subsequently elected as the Republican Minority Leader) and in the Nixon adminstration as Assistant Secretary for Congressional and Intergovernmental Affairs in the United States Department of Transportation.

    History

    The portion of Route 205 from Route 580 east to Route 205's Business Route and the business route itself was once Route 50. What's more, they also used to be a portion of the very old and decomissioned U.S. Route 48.
