317. Route 17 is from Route 1 near Santa Cruz to Route 280 in San Jose.
Route 17 from:
(a) Route 1 near Santa Cruz to Granite Creek Road near Scott's Valley.
(b) The south city limits of Los Gatos to Route 280 in San Jose.
Supposedly the entire route, though the description above restricts
it from being such.
Route 880 was also Route 17 at one time. What's more, Route 17 and
Route 880 share the same freeway even at Route 280. If you look hard
enough, there are highway signs off Route 880 that still have a faint
cut-out of the Route 17 marker behind the current marker. Some of these
cut-outs haven't even been covered up!
