Hallo, fellow Earthling! Welcome to my website. My name is Ben, and I am a music composer/game designer. My main instrument is the keys, and I also play a bit of guitar. I have cerebral palsy (spastic hemiplegia) on my entire left side, due to a brain hemorrhage at birth, which makes it difficult for me to play the guitar efficiently. Thanks to the advent of MIDI technology, I can jot down my song ideas in a MIDI sequencer (see the 'MIDI is Awesome' article for more info about my songwriting process). I compose various genres of music, and I have a few music projects: Gimpy & the Absentees (Rock), Cultural Communication (Electronic Dance), and the Pigtown Lounge Lizard (Jazz/Funk Rock). At the moment, Gimpy & the absentees' debut LP is under development; a teaser will be posted on the start page soon. My other passions are game design and modding. I enjoy making my own mods for the awesome FPS-games, DOOM 1 & 2. I am currently working on a custom mod for the superlative interactive drawing program, Kid Pix Deluxe. I'm making some music crummies, moopies and stamps, as well as collaborating with a friend on some custom clip-art. KP users can add them to their projects. I also have a column of articles, titled 'Schwein's Penny', which is my opinion regarding a variety of topics -- usually music related.
