What's New??? More Importantly, Who Cares....

5/16/2022:
Hallo, fellow Earthlings! Benj here after a year-long absence. 2021 was a very rough and stressful year, both personally and creatively. I haven't worked on much music in these last few months, but I'm back after I had some time to recharge. The Knee-Deep In Synths site is up, and I'm working on some more demos for some of the pages. I'm saving the Quotidian Woes for a future release; my heart wasn't in it, so I'm saving the other songs, with the exception of "Foot", "Beginning of the End", and "Barnacle", for a future release. The material that I'm working on now is a bit more melancholic, and slow. It's certainly more synth-oriented that's for sure. :-) It's like Recoil-meets-Vangelis -- the songs are very lush.

The Benjspiels blog is now up. That's probably the best place to check out the progress of my video game levels and read my articles. The my penny page will still be up for the web 1.0 users, lol. Now, come to think of it, the blog is a pretty good way to save web space. Hah. The PhantasmaWaramaug site should be up in the near future (my DEADSY fan site). I'm super excited for the release of their new LP, Subterfuge. The crummie of 'The Dream Is Always The Same', is absolutely wonderful -- or shall I say thunderful? Hehe. And also, my wish has come true: Mushroomhead is releasing old live footage from the vaults, on their Youtube channel. I cannot even begin to express how awesome it is to see more material of my favourite era of the band. It's been a real treat during these turbulent times, and I look forward to some more awesome releases from both DEADSY and Shroom. The WalkBand demo page should be up soon, so stay tuned.

Benj signing out now; cheers, everyone!

Old school Gimpy in the house, y'all! Tongue out

5/6/2021:
The site is finally up and running! Now, I finally have my own refuge where I can spout my most infantile gibberish! Bwahahaha.. The music page should be launched in the next week or so. There may be some broken links here and there, but everything should be up soon. I'm working on a more compact version of the site with a frame-navigation. Though, to be honest, I quite like this very basic version of the site. The compact version of the site should be up in the near future.

What new music have I been listening to lately? I've been listening to the new Mushroomhead, and it's really awesome! I think Jackie, Steve and Tommy are excellent additions to the band. I had my doubts since Jeff, Schmotz, Church and Waylon left the band, but fear (held dear?) not it's really great. I go through moments where I ponder how the band would sound -- especially live -- if they kept that chunky guitar tone of Superbuick (hands down, one of the best album productions ever!). JJ and Dinner really had an amazing tone, and I really think that album is their magnum opus. Alas, I was only a baby (and not in Ohio for that matter!) during their early years. Roxy mentioned in an interview that a bunch (I'm paraphrasing, 'cause I can't be arsed to find the interview right now) -- if not all -- live footage from the '90s is in the vaults. Other than some clips that are available on the net, I don't think there's much old school Shroom to geek-out 'til my heart's content, unfortunately. I would love to get into trading shows, and I know you traders are still out there! But, alas, I don't have much of a collection worth trading that hardcore Shroom fans don't already have. Wah... One day, hopefully Skinny will release their shows along with a documentary about their early years. It would be great to see an interview with Chamberlain, Mr. Murdernickel, Dinner, and DJ Virus, as well as the show regulars circa-1997-1999.

Buncha guacamole in my pie hole, I went of an a ramble, lol. That should conclude this entry... Later! :-)
