Biohazards
beat Five Beer Minimum 3-1

In
a hard fought battle between two great
teams, a veteran (read sub) laden team of
Biohazards squeaked out a victory against
a young Five Beer Minimum squad that was
missing key veteran Rick Rees who sat out
with a pulled groin (presumably his own).
The see-saw affair saw the teams fight to
a 0-0 draw in the first period despite a
four minute penalty kill from FBM after
Brian Sena picked up an extra two-minute
misconduct for politely requesting an
explanation of a tripping call from the
referee.
Having
been inspired by the extra misconduct
penalty picked up by Sena earlier and the
allure of getting to sit on the bench for
a whole four minutes, Jack Clifford
picked up two minutes for elbowing and
then an extra two minutes for allegedly
asking the aforementioned referee if he
had plans after the game. Not wanting to
let this scoring opportunity go to waste,
super-sub Craig Wallace popped in a goal
on the short side, fed to him in a scrum
by Simon Turcotte. FBM tied it at one on
a pretty rebound shot by Boris
Amchislavsky with less than three seconds
to go in the period.
With
eight minutes to go in the third period
another super-sub Rob Haitani potted the
game winner for the Biohazards.
Biohazards went on to score an empty net
goal on an overly dramatic set of tic-tac
passes into the open net. When asked to
comment on the win Biohazards team
captain said "if we still had Doug
Gould we would have really smoked them,
but we are happy to get out with a win."
