Secret
Sauce Starts Strong, But Biohazards
Bounce Back

As
the season progresses in Belmont's C
league, the Biohazards and Secret Sauce
can agree on something: they're very
evenly matched, and that's good for the
players and the fans alike. Last week's
game between these two squads took almost
all of overtime to decide; this one took
a shootout.

Fink opened the scoring for Secret Sauce,
taking a couple of long passes and
running up the right wing side for a
power play goal. Fink also struck again
early in the second period, thanks to a
perfect pass from Roland Gendron. Less
than a minute later, Gendron added an
unassisted tally of his own.
But
the rest of the second period clearly
belonged to the Biohazards. The Sauce
were skating only 7, and their blue-liners
were starting to get tired. Speedy Austin
Herman and feisty Matt Baird combined for
the Biohazards' first goal; about a
minute later, Craig Wallace took a pass
from John Lewis for their second, on the
power play.
The
Biohazards kept up the pace and the
pressure in the third period, and it
would pay off as Pat Escaron caught Sauce
goalie Michael Roeder a little bit out of
position to tie the game. Both teams
played quite well in a fast-paced
overtime period, but neither would manage
to find the back of the net. Craig
Wallace scored the only goal in the
shootout to finally earn a victory for
the Biohazards.
