Youngbloods
fail to avoid playoffs quaterfinals after
a 6-4 loss to the Beavers

It
was a meaningless game to the Beavers who
locked up first place last week in a
controversial off side win. The
Youngbloods on the other hand needed to
win this game to finish second and get
the by. The word in Vegas was that the
Youngbloods were favored, giving odds of
17 to 16, but as they say in the Belmont
Adult Recreational Hockey League…
any given Wednesday. Game day line-ups
were announced and out were aces Trevor
“Hank” Lawley and Dudley
“Dumpling” Chamberlin, also out
was the Beaver goaltender Ford “Four
by Four” Goodman who was replaced by
Craig “All Star” Nash.
Joey
Joe-Joe Joey Balan or Thunder Pants as he
is known by those near to him wasted no
time in padding his goal scoring record
early in the first period, scoring two
and giving the Youngbloods an early lead.
Also scoring in the first for the
Youngbloods was Andrew “Crazy
Legs” Till on a superb effort. At
the end of the first period the score was
3-1 and it looked like the Youngbloods
were gonna win.
A
strong second period by the Beavers’
run and gun offense had them on top 4-3,
thanks to goals by Ben “Coco”
Fisher and Brian “The Good
Doctor” Fox.
The
score was 4-3 for the Beavs going into
the third and Joey Joe-Joe Joey Balan
completed his hat trick and evened up the
game at 4. The neutrality was short lived
after Ludo “Big Man” Legrand
put the Beavers up late in the third.
Short after that Ludo was sent to the
penalty box for molesting one of the
Youngbloods. As the time ticked away on
the Youngbloods dreams of second place,
they were crushed when Phil “The
Maniac” Roveto put the Beavers up by
two and sealed it with a shorthanded goal.
