Youngbloods swat Stingers in Overtime
By Neil Parkin and Joe Balan

Jack Regan, Joe Balan and Larry Waxman led the Youngbloods to a hard-fought OT win in the 9:30 game at Belmont. The lead was never more than one goal and was held alternately by each team through the game.

Solid play by David Tesarowski who was subbing in for a missing Trevor Lawely, helped to anchor the Youngbloods defense. Eric Nash, Jesse Lindow, and Paul O'Connor also helped to create confusion and frustration in the Stingers zone. Goaltender Johnny "Blaze" came up big in his 3rd straight victory.

Ben Fisher, subbing for the Stingers, did not get thrown out of the game this time around and scored a hat-trick, but the Stingers failed to convert on a number of scoring opportunities, took several penalties, and paid for it. "I sucked", Stingers' captain Neil Parkin was heard to say.

Jack Regan scored the OT winner on a screened shot from the blue line. "He was looking high", said Stingers goalie Mark Fassett, "but the shot came low. Maybe he got lucky".

After the game, Joe Balan said: "The Stingers are tough team, all my respect goes to that organization and what they have done over the last 3 seasons."
