Gerihatricks'
league debut ends with a 3:2 shootout win
over the Stingers

The
first official game of the Fall 2006
season pitted the Stingers against the
Gerihatricks. Gerihatricks came out
strong and quickly scored 2 goals by team
captain Gord Macpherson and their likely
scoring leader (you heard it here first),
Brent Jenkins.
Gerihatricks
goalie Mike Phipps was stellar, and with
help from the goalposts kept the surging
Stingers at bay until they finally got on
the board with goals from Mark Allan and
David Cunningham (on a remarkable sharp
angle backhand shot).
In
spite of a late period power play which
spilled into the overtime, thanks to the
Stingers defense and strong goaltending
by Mark Fassett the score remained tied
and the game was decided in a shootout.
Only Craig Wallace from Gerihatricks
scored, on the 4th and final attempt.
