Navigate Text Box: Warriors Wide Receiver Vanecek Sits Out 2004 Season

September 19, 2004

KALAMAZOO (AP) -- Bellevue Warriors Wide Receiver Neal Vanecek is scheduled to miss the entire 2004 Western Michigan Intramural Flag Football season due to scheduling conflicts.

Vanecek found out on Saturday that he would miss all four of the Warriors regular season games.

"It was a tough decision, and I lost a lot of sleep over it," Vanecek commented. "This was supposed to be my break out season."

Vanecek saw limited playing time in the 2003 season behind star Warriors wide recievers Eugene Baldwin and Bill Caddick, but still accumulated 1 reception for 15 yards. The wide receiver also saw field time on the defensive team, where he compiled 2 tackles in 2 games.
