Sunshine and Rain

You don't like the sunshine, and I don't like the rain
Both of us can't deal with things that lead our hearts to pain
You remember all the times spent laughing in the sun
Times that slipped away from you, moments that are gone
I recall the tears I've cried that puddled at my feet
Like thunderstorms that hurricaned and ruined all that's sweet.

Funny how we mimic things we'd swear to God we hate
Like sunny laughing lullabyes, we always recreate
Like tears of joy that stain our faces, as we walk along
Hand in hand, we understand, that nature sings her song

And the sunshine is our melody
And the rain is our percussion
And our laughter, and our wonderment
And all of our discussion
Couldn't possibly be anything but pleasure killing pain.
Kinda like the same exchange of sunshine and the rain.

And days spin on around our love, and we sing our refrain
God I love the sunshine, and God you love the rain!
