I sat in the dark and cried
conquered, I was, by sorrow
The moment my convictions died
The hope lost for tomorrow
My eyes swelled over with tears
Pain dribbled down my cheek
My mind runneth over with fears
And the silence made me weak
I couldn't cope with happiness
I couldn't deal with pain
I couldn't feel the tenderness
I couldn't fight the strain
Blind, I was, to hope and help
That fearful, lonely night
I bowed my head and begged the Lord
And then - He gave me SIGHT!
