Progress
Yesterday I woke to meet a world I'd never met
And every sight before me stole my heart,
This was what I'd dreamed about forever
And all I had to do was find my part.
Hopes swirled round upon the breeze
A thousand butterflies,
I tried to make the moments freeze
Time evaded all my tries.
The sunlight poured her golden glow
On meadows sweet as peas
The stars have proven they have heard
And answered all my pleas.
Oh how I've longed to be this free
How long I've wished to feel
That all the beauty in my mind
Could finally be real
And this new peace belongs to me
It is no masquerade!
These sweets things here are all results
Of progress I have made.
