The Jester
I used to plan my footsteps
As I'd creep across the floor
You used to be a threat to me
But No! Not anymore!
I used to be afraid of you
How easily you hate
I shook inside a new tear
I thought your power great.
I knew manipulation
Was the bond that kept us one
I accepted that condition
Until all my strength was gone
Depression and Frustration
Dwelled together in my core
Braiding deep within me
Every scream and slamming door
Your majesty, it's over
I - the jester - take the throne
Perhaps I'll raid the castle
My first venture on my own.
My heart will overthrow you
As I thought I'd never do
I will celebrate each breath drawn in
And make my dreams come true
I intend to smile profusely
Precious joy, and things serene...
The former court performer
Takes her new role as The QUEEN!
