| Do You Believe? | |||||||||||||||||||||||||
| I believe that angels are all around us! Sometimes even, I think they slip inside us. Here on earth, we are all angels in training if we allow ourselves to be. Even when we can't be the angels we wish we could be as strong and graceful as, we are blessed to have people around us - sometimes strangers - who really care. Let me first introduce that I am not a Catholic, although I am a Christian. I want to say too, that you don't have to be Catholic, Christian, or any specific religion to believe in the power of angels! It's a matter of belief in the angels and of goodwill... not a specific religion. I believe angels have many angles! In my opinion , which ofcourse isn't the only way , I think there are three types of angels to be encountered in this world! The Most Likely Angles Of Angels The Human Kind - person(s) who spread joy and inspiration in the name of Love, Lord and/or causes. They ask nothing of you These are the kind of angels that lack the wings and halos, but are certainly not lacking in presence. Good samaritans whogo above and beyond a call of duty, to help others (even strangers) - even when there is absolutely nothing the helped can do in return for the helper. The Concious Kind - Spiritual beings we conciously see, feel, or hear. Perhaps guardian angels. It is common that people report incidences of angel experiences. It is extremely common among the dying and from people who have experienced near death and recovered. Concious angels, as I call them, are sensed when the body is awake. Some commonly reported experiences include |

| feeling warmth sweep over the body, seeing distorted images of light (like seeing the halo - but not the body), smelling familiar aromas, and hearing voices and/or familiar sounds to a specific angel. |

| For example a widow smelling the aroma of her husband's pipe, while alone in her house, years after he has died. These concious angels may serve to guide us, protect us, or sometimes... just to say I love you. The Unconcious Kind - Spirtiual beings we see in our dreams, or in sleeplike states of unconciousness. Whether created by the dreamer, or by the heavens, these aparitions may guide the dreamer through difficult life challenges, offer comfort, or direct the dreamer to the importance of specific situations. People who dream angels, aren't necessarily mediums of any sort. There are many people who do not consider themselves to be psychically gifted in any way that experience unconcious angels. It is very easy for anyone who doesn't believe in angels to refute their existence. How could we possibly prove that what we have dreamed is nothing more than a figment of our imaginations? How can we hold an ill and medicated person, accountable for their supposed experience with angels? It's all a matter of belief. I believe we are often more likely to be 'in touch' with another realm in our deepest times of need. (In pain that is emotional and physical, and certainly upon death.) Medicated or not, there are millions of people medicated every day who don't see angels. I truly believe that if we want to see them, we will. Even when we don't sense angels, are they still around us? I don't have that answer, but I believe we do. It is comforting for me to think my friends and loved ones surround me. Perhaps, even when I beg the heavens for a sign - and receive nothing obvious - they really are hovering closely. Sometimes, a belief in something great- is the only thing that will wake us up in the mornings. When I was a little girl, I used to dream that an older woman, pale white and clad in a silky gown, would holdme in her lap, rock me in the old rocking chair that we had in our living room, and sing me songs. I had the dream over and over, with many variations, and as I child. thought it nothing more than a pleasant dream. In retrospect though, I can see it more clearly. As a girl, I spent many years ill with every ear/nose/throat problem you could think of. I used to parade around the living room, pronouncing my wish to be a singer just like on Star Search. The only problem was, I couldn't hear myself. I was proud of something terrible, and I didn't know it. I was scratchy, and nasaly and tone deaf, and I thought I was a star. I have to thank my parents for not humiliating me, and for always clapping and smiling when I'd put on one of my little shows in the living room. Even when I heard music, on the radio, or my mother's fantastic singing, I wasn't hearing it the way I should be. In my dream though, it was perfect, every note was golden, something I treasured even when I woke. That elderly singer I dreamed about, may well have been my inspiration to keep plugging away at my love for singing, and music. I think just maybe, that woman was an angel of hope, a promise that one day, I would hear and sing beautiful music. Even if I created that angel, it worked. It helped me get through a time where I was ill and exhausted and quickly losing patience! So you see, it's the belief that comforts us, even if we cannot prove a thing to anyone - but our own hearts! |
