The Story Of Ross And Rachel |

Ross and Rachel have a off-and-on again relationship, which we all hope to have "on again" one day, and to make it last forever that time. Rachel, Ross's crush back when she was in Lincoln High and he was in college, entered the lives of every friends fan first coming in Central Perk with her wedding dress on, and not to mention, soaked. But luckily, she had left her finace, Barry, at the alter, which later on we find that was a wise choice to make cause her and Ross are definite soulmates. Ross, Monica's older brother, is a geeky but loveable person... who loves dinosaurs. He had just split from Carol, now his ex-wife, and had a son with her, who they called Ben. And with that, and later on down the line, we find that Ross and Rachel are really that perfect for each other.

Overall everything was perfectly going great, until Paolo and Julie showed up. But we're getting way ahead of ourselves here. Before Paolo, Ross and Rachel shared many of those cute moments. For instance, in the very first episode, Ross asked Rachel "... do you think it will be okay if I asked you out? Sometime? Maybe?" and she replied "Yeah, maybe". Then, when Rachel didn't know how to do her laundry, Ross offered to help her, and she accepted it. And with the many problems Rachel had, let's not stress that point too strongly, finally at the end, they shared their first kiss. If that isn't cute, I don't know what is. Now, back to the subject of Paolo and Julie...
Paolo came in the episode The One With The Blackout and later at the end of that certian episode Rachel and him hooked up, which made Ross a jealous man. Ya see, it was all because of a cat, which was Paolo's. Short version -- Cat jumps on Ross, Rachel tries to find owner, and Rachel bumps into "you know who". :)

Soon, that ended, when Paolo made probably the biggest mistake of his life... and let's not get into detials, but say that "relationship" or whatever it was, ended with Rachel dumping Paolo. Good thing! Unfortuantly, that's not the rest of this story, Julie came into the picture when Chandler and Joey told Ross to go to China and try to get over Rachel. Well, he did, but little did he know that back home Chandler spilt the news to Rachel that Ross has loved her since the 9th grade. That's when Rachel realizes she has those "feelings" for Ross. So... when he gets home, he's not alone and with... Julie! And, to not go with the "blah, blah, blah" version I know you've already heard [and probably don't like if you're a R&R fan], I'll sum it up saying that Rachel goes out with a guy in pursue to get over Ross, it fails, she gets drunk, calls Ross and tells him she has/had feelings for him, Ross hears this, and they have a tiny little fight in Central Perk then end up kissing.

Soon after, Ross dumped Julie and went for Rachel, the girl he has loved since the 9th grade, the girl it's always been. But... that failed. Ross made a list and Rachel found it and then they ended up breaking up for the short time they were together. And finally, after a really long wait, they got together for a second time after Rachel sees a old Prom video Ross and Monica's parents leave behind. This was a very cute moment. :) This was their 3rd kiss. Not first, as some people say, I think.

And after the many moments, some cute, some funny, some serious, that we got to spend watching Ross and Rachel go through... that was enough to make us fall in love with them. But then, Mark and Chloe came along. Yes, I know, two more people that get in the way. Anyway, they seemed okay for a while, well, Mark did. But Mark happened to make Ross jealous, so that made R&R have more mini-fights. The day comes when Ross and Rachel have this big argument [or fight, should I say], which happens to be on their 1st Anniversary. Rachel decides they should take a break from them and Ross goes "out". Mark then comes over to Rachel's [and Monica's] to have some Chinese and "talk" with Rachel. Ross calls, wanting to work things out with Rach, and finds out that Mark is there. Chloe, that girl from the copyplace, talks to Ross and tries to cheer him up. Meanwhile, back at Rachel and Monica's, Rachel is sitting by the phone hoping Ross will call her again. Now, back to Ross and Chloe, well, let's just say things get a little more heated than we expect...

Never the less, Ross wakes up to find out that he slept with the "girl-from-the-copy place" otherwise formally known as Chloe. Rachel left a message on the answering machine stating she wanted to be Ross's girlfriend again. So, that happens, but Chandler and Joey convince Ross to not tell Rachel what he did. Unfortunately, as hard as Ross tried for Rachel not to know anything, she found out anyway [from Gunther, at that]. They officially broke up. That was the saddest day for all Ross and Rachel fans, but the writers continued to keep it funny throughout with Ross's ever so famous "we were on a break". They dated other people and they fought some more. They got back together once, but then broke up again. One day, Rachel met Joshua, which started a whole new thing. While Rachel was crushing on him, Ross found someone new as well [who he met through Rachel and her boss...] and they started a brand new thing as well.

Dum, dum, dum... the next part is rather cruel. Eventually, Ross asked Emily to marry him and she, of course, said yes. When Rachel found out, she got all emotional and ended up asking Joshua to marry her. He got scared and ran off. It came time to go to Ross and Emily's wedding, Rachel stayed behind with Phoebe, who obviously couldn't go because of her pregnancy. Phoebe talked to Rachel, who finally realized she had feelings for Ross and went to stop the wedding. Nope, didn't stop it, well, not quite anyway. She told Ross "congratulations" and took a seat in the crowd. Here comes the cool part [not for Ross though], he says "Rachel" instead of "Emily". That caused chaos. So, Ross ended up marrying Emily anyway and as soon as they tried to get together as a married couple once and for all, Emily told Ross he couldn't see Rachel anymore, which caused Ross to get a divorce for the second time.

Right after, Rachel finally told Ross she loved him, but then didn't. Oh, the joys of complication.

Anyway, Monica and Chandler start dating. Phoebe has the babies. Ross and Rachel become somewhat friends again. Joey gets a big movie production in Las Vegas -- and everyone goes to Las Vegas to support him. Only, he's really not in a movie. Phoebe has fun playing the slots. Monica and Chandler fight and make up. Ross drawls on Rachel, which leads to getting drunk in their hotel room. They end up getting married. Ross and Rachel argue over why or why not they should get the marriage annulled. Ross claims he'll take care of it, but he doesn't and Ross and Rachel end up having to get a divorce. So, by the end of season six, Ross and Rachel were best friends again, Chandler and Monica were engaged, Joey was Joey, and Phoebe was, well... Phoebe. The start of a brand new season lead us to believe something was going to happen with Ross and Rachel...

Clever. But apparently not clever enough. Another mishap. The famous on-and-off again couple was about to have a "bonus night", but Monica ended up catching them. So we go on throughout the year with normal things happening. Chandler and Monica planning their wedding, Rachel as the maid of honor, Phoebe as the bridesmaid, Ross as the best man, and Joey as the priest. Happy, happy, happy. Funny, funny, funny. Same-o, same-o. Wait, though, towards the end, Ross and Rachel spark up a bit of romance... and we find out that Rachel is in fact pregnant.

However, as much as we love the fact the she is, and in fact with Ross's baby, some things change in the world of Friends. A lot of things happen, as to Joey falling in love with Rachel, Chandler and Monica planning to have their own kid soon, Rachel moving in with Ross, Ross and Rachel kissing, Phoebe and her many quirks, and finally, Rachel having her baby girl, Emma. So what's in store for these seven friends down the road? Season Nine will tell us all and hopefully give us what we've been waiting for.

NOTE: If you look at the beginning of each paragragh, you'll see that all of the first letters put together spell Ross and Rach. :)
