Maxwell Highcliffe and Sanjuro were travelling companions in the time before they met the other Bearers of Akasha. A visit to the Cliff City of House Syrtis proved unfortunate, though, as the "Sermon on the Mast" was misinterpreted by the authorities. Both young heroes were arrested, fined, and released after a day in the Syrtisian clink.
