Step 4.

Lace it up!

If you have choosen not to use lace, skip this step. If you added lace to the back of your inside cover, skip this step.

Add the lace color you have choosen around the book. Be careful not to burn yourself. For a book that you place the cover farther in on, make the lace touch the edge of the lining. I embellish the lace with a ribbon or rope.

Now your book should look like this on the inside.

Add a little pocket to the back if you want. Or add small silk daisies in the corners. Embellish it any way you like, just be sure not to effect the closure.

Step 5.

Finishing it off

To embellish the front of the book. Follow the steps for covering cardboard. Add lace to the inside edge of the frame base, and glue it on.

Add the second frame to the top of this. Add plastic to the inside of the frame to protect your cover image.

High Melt Glue Guns work best. You have more time to get your stuff on the mark. A low temp gun dries to fast.

Don't be afraid to embellish, just don't go overboard, less it MORE.

Use different patterns and designs, contrast what you have.

Use a paper slicer to get the cardboard straight and even.

Use and exacto-knife to cut out frame, or buy frames at your local craft store.

Don't use to much batting... it can make things to thick, and they might bunch.

Never use batting on the inside.

Always glue on insides and hidden edges. You should not SEE the glue...

ALWAYS use acid free product on the inside of the album, and the outside, if possible.
